About Donald Hudson

Donald Hudson is an Emergency Medicine Physician who trained in the USAF and Chicago. He is double board certified in ER medicine from ACEP & ACOEM and was further trained in Aerospace Medicine during his time with the USAF.

Donald also trained in Family Practice, Hyperbarics and wound care. He worked in the Alaska Regional Hospital ER Department for over 31 years and recently retired to pursue other interest.

He also worked at Providence Alaska from 1976 till 1981 and now back in 2006 part time.

He is the Medical Director of Iliuliuk Family & Health Services in Unalaska and has been there for over 25 years.

He was the Medical Director for LifeFlight the medivac service for Alaska Regional Hospital for 25 years. He also was medical director for Aeromed (another medivac service) for 2 years.

He was the Medical Director & founder of Transcare a stable patient transport service in Anchorage for over 25 years and has been involved in training EMT's & Paramedics for over 20 years.

He is the Medical Director & Co-Director with Dr Jennifer Dow for a number of remote exploration sites. He was the DME for several medical students from both Europe and the lower 48.

Donald is a pilot, avid snowmobiler and weight lifter. He teaches survival techniques for both summer and winter survival. He is married, with 2 grown children and one granddaughter.

He has served on the ACEMS board for over 7 years and has served on the Medical Board for the State of Alaska.

He has been involved in remote site exploration for oil and gold since 1978. These range from small operations to large companies.
